Youth Good Health Ambassador Nominations 2025–26

In Celebration of International Youth Day – 12 August 2025

Curated by Young India Network for Good Health Leaders | Nada India Foundation

“Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals requires a seismic shift – which can only happen if we empower young people and work with them as equals.”
UN Secretary-General António Guterres

🟠 Theme of IYD 2025: “Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond”

Every August 12th, the world celebrates International Youth Day (IYD) to honour young people's leadership, courage, and contributions. In 2025, the spotlight is on local youth action—how young people are translating global goals into grassroots realities.

Nowhere was this theme more alive than at the ActOn Youth Forum 2024–25, organized by Nada India Foundation through its Young India Network for Good Health, mentored by Vidya Lead Academy.

Since 2020, ActOn Forums have created safe, youth-led spaces to discuss public health, mental well-being, gender equity, and addiction prevention, amplifying youth voices in shaping health policy through campaigns like #Youth4TobaccoFreeIndia and Youth for Well-being.

🔍 Why This Matters

At the recent ActOn Youth Forum, young leaders from Shimla, Punjab, Jamshedpur, and Delhi reminded us what action looks like:

  • Yuvika Kaul called out the invisible epidemic of addiction:
“Addiction is not just a failure of will. It’s a failure of belonging.”

  • Sharanya Mahajan uncovered the deep-rooted shame around menstruation:
“We were never told it was normal. So we never asked.”

  • Anvi Chauhan emphasized restoring trust in ASHA workers:
“They’re seen as intruders. But they are the bridge to early detection and care.”

These aren’t just testimonials. These are the stories of ambassadors in action.

🧭 A Platform Beyond the Forum

With guidance from Mr. Suneel Vatsyayan, National Executive Member of NAPSWI, the Youth Good Health Ambassadors will be part of a new movement where social workers and youth co-lead community health, not as assistants but as architects.

“Can prevention remain a luxury in India’s health system?”
“Social work must lead—not silently stand by—when youth are lost to preventable causes.”

🕊️ Final Reflection: A Movement in the Making

This International Youth Day, let us remember:

✅ Youth are not just beneficiaries of development — they are the builders of it
✅ Prevention is not just about pamphlets — it is about presence, purpose, and people
✅ Policy isn’t powerful until it is shaped by those it aims to serve

So nominate your Youth Good Health Ambassador.
Let them learn. Let them lead. Let them lift others.

Let them ActOn.
