Nada India team conducted Acudetox workshop @Sri Aurobindo Society

#SvarnimPuducherry, a holistic development project of Sri Aurobindo Society, as a part of their health initiatives organized a Workshop on De-addiction and Wellbeing on July 7 and 8, 2019. The workshop was based on the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association’s (NADA) Protocol, which comprises ear acupuncture for addiction, stress and trauma. The applicants selected included a group of 35 medical and paramedical professionals and interested candidates, who wholehearted and keenly participated in the programme. The reason that Sri Aurobindo Society chose for this programme is that the NADA Protocol “can easily be used in any location where a group of people can sit together. It is most commonly used for addiction, behavioral health, disasters and emotional trauma. Nada India joins governing board of Healthy India Alliance for the prevention and control of NCDs in India.

Nada India has been working on prevention and control of Non communicable Diseases at community level with a focus on stress , alcohol and tobacco prevention .This year, Nada volunteered to join other 18 civil societies  to form Healthy India Alliance for the prevention and control of NCDs in India. Haryana NGO Network for Peer led Drug & Alcohol Prevention

Over 25 peer led de-addiction centres spread over the length and breadth of Haryana met in Rohtak on Wednesday, 30th June, 2010 and resovled to work toghther to improve treatment and long term recovery of people affected by drug and alcohol addiction. The Haryana NGO Network for Peer Led Drug & Alcohol Prevention has 43 members. Peer Led initiatives are popular all over the world in addressing problems like addiction. The fundamental concept behind it is that the management of rehabilitation of addicts is done by recovering drug & alcohol addicts.It has been accepted by various countries and international agencies that the effectiveness of counseling by peers or those who have gone through the similar regiours and pain of addiction to better suited to change other addicts.
