Nada India is a c o-signing organisation ,  Time to Deliver in 2018: Bolder Commitments and Action Needed to Reverse the Tide of Noncommunicable Diseases and Mental Health Disorders Wednesday 6 June 2018  The NCD Alliance and Nada India Foundation  welcome the Report of the WHO Independent High Level Commission on Noncommunicable Diseases (NCDs), Time To Deliver, launched on Friday 1 June in Geneva, Switzerland, ahead of crucial negotiations for the United Nations High-Level Meeting on NCDs (UN HLM) taking place in New York this coming September. The Commission's report draws a line in the sand on the need for political leaders to accept that progress to date has been severely inadequate and out of step with the growing burden of NCDs and mental and neurological health. Department of Social Work, University of Delhi Organized five days capacity building Training Programme for SC students on the theme of “Youth for Social Change” from 27th to 31st January 2017. The basic idea of this training programme was to enhance the competencies and perspectives of SC students to visualize the larger social change while addressing the contemporary challenges and problems faced by the student groups from oppressed and marginalized communities in India.  This training was organized with support of Rajeev Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD) Tamil Nadu.  The  participants for this training were  M.A/ M.Phil and PhD Scholars from Delhi University, Jamia, JNU and Ambedkar University. Nada India conducted a session on Life Skill Education for Youths  on  29th January ( Sunday ) 2017 at 12.00 pm. at the Department of Social Work, 3-University Road, University of Delh i.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has some very original advise for those craving alcohol in his state where there is a blanket ban on consumption and possession. “Turn off the lights and drink juice, you will feel the same,” suggested Kumar primly. He continued to bait recreational drinkers not just in Bihar but everywhere in India by declaring that enforcing prohibition has been the highlight of his career. “I feel a deep sense of fulfillment after banning alcohol,” he claimed. Director, IHBAS,  Delhi Dear Dr.  NG   Desai   ji , I congratulate you and the core committee members for preparing well drafted "Delhi State Mental Health Authority minimum standards for substance use treatment and rehabilitation centres ". T he draft document on minimum standard of care is inclusive and easy to implement. It will help hundreds of voluntary organisations running rehabilitation centres in Delhi to deliver much much needed services to patients and their care givers.  My comments/observations on the draft document are mentioned below (in  bold) :  1. The substance use disorders treatment and rehabilitation centres provides one or more of the following services :  I would suggest to please also add word "residential" services. 2. Dear Friends, We are happy to inform you all about the proud moment for all of us that NAPSWI represented India at 35th Annual Social work Day at the United Nations on 26th March 2018, probably first time. Mr Suneel Vatsayanan, a known social work practitioner and  Executive Member of NAPSWI has attended  Social Work Day at the UN which is a gathering place for people around the world who are working to make a difference. For 35 years social work students, practitioners, and educators have been convening at the UN to learn more about the UN, innovative projects and issues related to International Social Work and the critical role Social Work plays in the international arena.the theme of social work day was SDGs, Climate Change and Social Work Practice. We will share a complete report on his participation and outcomes, Mr Suneel will return back to India. Web-based consultation (10-16 May 2018)  WHO Independent High-level Commission on NCDs The WHO Independent High-level Commission  hosted a web-based consultation from 10 to 16 May 2018 on a preliminary draft report dated 1 May 2018.
